Getting Plastered

Had a minor emergency today.. well.. last night.. Came home from an evening of sensible and civilised drinks at The Jolly Sailor with Dominic and the Gardener and discovered water dripping through my ceiling.

Turns out that the chap upstairs had some plumbing done and the plumbers hadn't fixed his stop cock properly and it was dripping down into my ceiling. these things happen i guess, so i have a plumber coming around tomorrow to check out my pipes and the chap upstairs as well to ensure no more damage.

Does mean i will need at least part of the ceiling replastered. It might also give me an excuse to get rid of the hideous artex.. every cloud eh?

In With The New!!

Happy New Year!

So.. Jan 1st.. a brand new year, all clean and uncluttered..

It's funny how much significance is placed upon the start of a new year. I guess it's a nice easy point where we can reflect on what we've done before and what we hope to achieve in the future.

For me though, my new year was spent asleep. As is tradition for me, I tend to get struck down with the lurgy at this time of year.. This was my 2nd new year where I was ill.. I did venture out though but only made it to 9.30 before coming home.

Going back to my aims for 2009 mentioned a few posts ago.. I'm adding a new one.. Get a hair cut!

It was noted yesterday that my new found taste for middle class clothing, coupled with my hair not having been cut for 6 months is starting to make me look like a hybrid of all three Top Gear presenters!

Hmm.. grade 1 it is then!
