Ok.. So I Lied...

THIS will be my last post of 2008.

As mentioned in the past post, I was due back to the Hospital today to get my eye checked out. Turns out that it is healing as best it can.. the slight waviness and little central vision loss may stay.. but it could be a lot worse, My retina is flattening out nicely. My surgeon told me that he's seen someone who had a similar problem to me but their retina completely scarred and rolled up - at least mine is more or less flat!

So.. back in for a quick blast of laser soon, just to fix the retina properly then just have to wait for the cataract to appear.. then get that sorted and the oil removed from my eye.

So.. all in all, was a positive trip. Was concerned they were going to tell me it's all falling apart and I'd need some hideous op to fix it all!

Last One of 2008

It's been a couple of months since I last blogged. A few reasons for this.. including:

1) Realised that I was just writing any old random stuff and thus over saturating my blog.
2) Worried I'd get addicted to blogging the same way I'm addicted to Facebook.

But.. most importantly..

3) Really had nothing to say!

Well, I have lots to say but nothing that didn't involve getting up on my soapbox!

So, I've decided that i need one more post this year, so am going to share a few thoughts. The first is that I really don't like my job anymore. (that won't be news to anyone i guess, I've been saying i'll get a new one for ages) But it's got to the point now where i just hate the sight of the place. Drove by there on the way back from Hastings yesterday and I just had that feeling of dread...

I've also decided that I need to lose weight again... in the last 18 months i managed to lose about 10kg - but then put most of it back on again when i was laid out all summer following eye ops.

I also need to embrace my 'middle class'-ness. I've spent too long denying it.... I've recently started sporting the 'dark blue jeans / brown smart shoes / smart shirt or jumper' look and really quite like it. I've also now bought some beige smart trousers and a charcoal grey cord smart jacket.. the jacket looks ace with jeans shoes and either shirt or jumper. And you know what? I actually feel much more comfy with that look than when i kick about in scruffy trousers and polo shirts / baggy jumpers!

So.. my 'Aims' for 2009 are:

1) Get a new Job
2) Lose weight
3) Embrace my inner 'Middle Class'

oh and...

4) Don't panic about turning 30

I'd also like to visit D and G in the US.. but that all depends on the outcome of my next paragraph!

On another note, and I guess another reason for me to blog today is that I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for an eye checkup. It's been 3 months since the last one and I'm hoping they tell me i don't' need another op yet. I know i will have to have at least one more, but I'm hoping it can wait until April (after my bday) as I have quite a lot of stuff I want to get done in the first few months of the year and could really do without more time doing nowt while i recover from an op!
